Rendleshams appeal for poppies

This year, at Rendlesham Care Centre in Ipswich, the residents decided they wanted to do something in commemoration of Remembrance Day.

To help celebrate we built into the arts and crafts activities at Rendlesham, the residents made their own banner to show that that we all care about those that fought, and continue to fight, for the peace and freedoms we enjoy today.

Many of our residents joined in with colouring the numerous small poppies that were included in the final design. Some also cut out the poppies, we then stuck our efforts together to form the finished artwork you can see in the photo below.

Once completed it was proudly hung from the balcony at the front of the home for all of Rendlesham to see, and also the families and friends of Rendlesham Care Centre residents.

We carry out Arts and Crafts on a regular basis here at Rendlesham as our residents always enjoy these sessions; it gives them time to be as creative as they want to be whilst enjoying the company of fellow residents. For some they discover hidden talents and it’s great to see the results of all their efforts and not only that, it brightens up our home.

Rendlesham Care Centre provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 60 elderly residents.
