Regular Memory Café at Southlands Place

Southlands Place nursing home in Bexhill-on-Sea is running a regular Memory Café for the local community at the East Sussex home.

Organisers hope that relatives, friends and other members of the local community who are interested in dementia or memory loss, or have a loved one living with dementia, will come along and learn more.

The next Memory Café at Southlands Place, in Hastings Road is set to take place on Thursday, July 6th from 10am until noon.

Southlands Place is a purpose built nursing home run by Caring Homes and offering the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 71 elderly residents.

Area Manager Nigel Young said; “We understand the challenges faced when you, or someone you are close to, are living with memory loss or dementia and would like to invite people along to our monthly Memory Café.

“At Caring Homes we promote a dementia friendly community and would urge people to come along and support this initiative. We hope they will be able to make new friends, and perhaps get some useful advice at the same time.”

The next Memory Café will take place on Thursday, July 6 and following that on the first Thursday of each month. As well as a chance to chat about any issues which may be worrying you or your loved one and make new friends, there will be regular activities including guest speakers, live music, quizzes and arts and crafts.
