Picnic in the Park for St Georges

At St Georges care home in Bristol, we took some residents out in the community today to St Werburghs ‘Picnic in the Park.’

We were lucky enough to be offered transport from the local community which helped immensely.

Due to the weather not as many of our residents chose to come, but Barbara and Jean who braved the elements thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They were accompanied by our two Activity Coordinators Helen and Anna who enjoyed it as much as they did.

This free event included various types of music throughout the day and a range of activities and demonstrations that are suitable for all age ranges. Some of the activities included circus and magic demonstrations and tutoring, drumming and badge making tutoring, storytelling, drumming workshops and breakdancing shows to name just a few. There was so much to see.

There were also lots of refreshments for us to enjoy; tea, cakes and we all enjoyed watching some great dancers performing which was a real treat for our residents. It was great to be out and about and getting lots of fresh air. The event showcases the range of talent of people in Bristol and it was a real joy for us to attend and support our local community.
