Opening of the Deck at Beaumont Villa

There couldn’t have been a nicer day full of sunshine and smiles to officially open our new decking area at Beaumont Villa in Jersey.

The decking was opened by our very own Regional Manager Julie Taylor and the residents cheered and clapped as the large red ribbon was cut.

Collette Bonner, Home Manager said:

“We are very lucky to be situated in such a scenic location here at Beaumont Villa and our residents, team, friends and families alike all enjoy using it to sit outside regularly and enjoy a drink or a snack.”

At Beaumont Villa, we know the importance and health benefits of fresh air and also experiencing being outside for dementia sufferers.

Fresh air is good for digestion, improves blood pressure and heart rate, strengthens the immune system, good for your lungs, can increase energy, encourage a sharper mind and is a valuable source of vitamin D. Last but not least, it has great psychological benefits as it can make you feel happier. We know that our residents enjoy the social aspect of being outside with their friends and it encourages mobility and interaction with each other.
