Oomph! beside the seaside at St Georges

As part of our regular and varied activity programme here at St Georges in Bristol we have decided to give our Oomph! Sessions a theme every time and with this in mind, today’s session was based on a good old fashioned English seaside.

With ‘Weston-Super-Mare’ located less than an hour away from our home, we knew some of our residents have enjoyed trips there in the past and would bring not only a sense of fun but evoke happy memories from past days out and seaside holidays with their families and friends.

We played some favourite holiday and seaside songs and our residents really got involved and joined in. They really enjoyed the interactive element and were joined by some of our team members who are always keen to participate as well.

With the strains of ‘We do like to be besides the Seaside’ ringing throughout the home, we also enjoyed candy floss, sticks of rock and even had fish and chips from the local chippy for lunch.

All the scenery was made by our very own Activities Co- coordinator Helen and we all agree looked fabulous.

We intend to go around the world with our future ‘Oomph Sessions’ and we can’t wait to see where we end up next time. Only questions is, will we need our passports? Watch this space to find out where we end up next time…

Oomph! Session can enhance the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our residents as well as everyday mental stimulation, regular, fun physical activity and new experiences & connections for those in our care. Find out more.
