Oaken Holt receive ‘Good’ CQC rating

Oaken Holt nursing and residential care home in Farmoor, Oxfordshire has been rated as providing a ‘good’ care service, according to its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The care home, provides residential and nursing care of the very highest standard for up to 59 elderly residents; it was given a ‘Good’ overall rating by inspectors, for providing an effective, caring, responsive and well-led care service.

The CQC report praised Oaken Holt in its overall summary, and noted: “People told us the service was friendly, responsive and well managed. People knew the managers and staff and spoke positively about them. The service sought people’s views and opinions and acted upon them.”

The report continued: “The service was caring. Staff were kind, compassionate and respectful and treated people and their relatives with dignity and respect. Staff gave people the time to express their wishes and respected the decisions they made. People were involved in their care and the service promoted people’s independence. Care plans were personalised and gave clear guidance for staff on how to support people.”

We are all extremely happy at the praise we received from inspectors in the report following their visit to Oaken Holt in July this year.”
