New Home Manager at Marchglen Care Centre

Lorena Love is the new Home Manager at our Marchglen Care Centre in Alloa, Scotland.

Lorena previously worked at Caring Homes for ten years before leaving for a new challenge and makes a welcome return as Manager at Marchglen.

She has 37 years’ experience as a nurse and 20 years’ experience in senior care roles at the NHS before joining Caring Homes in 1999 as Deputy, then becoming Home Manager at Kincardine Bridge. Lorena then left to be a training manager for Scotland as well as supporting three homes in the north of England before returning to Caring Homes as Home Manager at Marchglen Care Centre.

“One of the most enjoyable parts of the job as a Home Manager is the variety, as no two days are ever the same!” says Lorena. “I’m confident that I will be able to make a positive difference working with the great care team at Marchglen, as I am a very forward thinking person.”

Lorena has lived in the area for most of her adult life, so is familiar with Fishcross and the local area. She has three grown up sons and volunteers at the local cat shelter in her spare time. Lorena also has a keen interest in gardening and her favourite thing about living and working in Fishcross is; “the view of the Ochil Hills,” she says.

Marchglen was rated as an ‘excellent’ (6 out of 6 scored in all areas) in July 2015, by the Care Inspectorate for Scotland and rated as one of the top 20 care homes in Scotland in 2014. It is a modern state-of-the-art building, offering specialist nursing care in four dedicated houses (Aberfoyle, Duchray, Avondhu and Mentieth) arranged around a central day facility.

Marchglen specialises in care for challenging behavior and palliative care, as well as degenerative diseases and physical impairments. It also offers dedicated support for those with profound learning disabilities. Find out more about Marchglen here.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
