New Home Manager at Coppice Lea

Meera Govindapillai has recently started as the new Home Manager at our Coppice Lea care home in Merstham, Surrey.

She is a qualified nurse with 18 years’ experience in the National Health Service (NHS) and private care homes as well as the teaching sector. Meera has completed graduate and post-graduate training in nursing, a Registers Managers award and Leadership in Dementia qualification.

Meera started her career as an Assistant Lecturer in India in 1997 before joining the NHS in the UK as a Junior Sister for the Care of the elderly on an acute medical ward. She then joined a BUPA nursing home as Deputy Manager before becoming Home Manager for a nursing home in Guildford.

Meera served as a General Manager across three care homes in 2008, including one residential and two nursing homes; in this capacity, Meera was a finalist in the Registered Manager category of the 2014 Great British Care Awards for the South East Region.

Meera lives in Guildford with her daughter and says of her new role as Coppice Lea Home Manager: “I am very much enjoying my new role with Caring Homes Group at their Coppice Lea care home. I am and always have been very passionate about my job, and will work with staff and residents to achieve the best for our home from the ability and personal skills that I bring to Coppice Lea.”

Coppice Lea offers residential and nursing care in an elegant Victorian house that was formerly a large family home in the 1880’s. It enjoys fantastic views over the countryside and has five acres of landscaped gardens as well as an area of wooded grounds.
