Mothers Day arts and crafts at Ivy Court

Today at Ivy Court the residents and some of the care team joined in with some special mother’s day crafts. The residents made cards, a flower with message on and we also coloured in some special Mother’s Day pictures. This was a chance for the residents to talk about their mums and remember the special days they had when they were young. They all signed the card they made from them to their mum. We all agreed Mother’s Day is not just about mums it is about everyone that you love.

This was another great activity where the residents mixed together from upstairs and downstairs. The resident really enjoy making something different and regular activity is extremely beneficial to our residents, especially those who have the beginning of dementia or concentration issues. These types of activities help keep them involved in the world around them and mixing with the other residents. It also provides them with daily activities and exercises their brains.
