Moorlands Cultural Day

To celebrate the cosmopolitan nature of this Olympic year in Great Britain, Moorlands Care Home in Surrey recently held a colourful cultural day for residents and staff.

All of the staff were invited to come to work in their national costumes. The costumes were very popular with the residents, with many wanting to try the variety of hats on in particular. Residents and staff enjoyed a special lunch together and watched DVD’s of some very entertaining international dancing.

Located on the edge of the vibrant village of Lightwater in Surrey, Moorlands provides residential and nursing care for up to 40 elderly people in a bright and homely environment. The home’s semi-rural location offers a tranquil setting within easy reach of the village’s many amenities.

Moorlands was originally a large Edwardian family home and now provides the highest standards of residential, nursing and palliative care in an environment that retains a real home from home feel. Residents’ bedrooms and all communal areas are finished to a high standard. This attention to detail is replicated in Moorlands’ care provision. The home enjoys an excellent local reputation for care and maintains strong links with the community.
