Mill House residents enjoy a Cheese and Wine event

On Friday the 14th of October, Mill House care home in Chipping Campden organised and hosted a ‘Cheese and Wine’ afternoon for residents, families and friends at our home.

With great anticipation and taste buds watering, we all gathered together in the afternoon at 3:00pm. Rob, our in-house Chef ordered different types of our favourite cheeses, such as Stilton, Mature Cheddar, Brie and Red Leicester for our foodie event.

Dominika, our Activity Coordinator organised the wine, including a Red Cabernet Sauvignon, white Pino Grigio and Harvey’s Cream Sherry to offer everyone a choice of a drink.

The selection of cheeses were served with a variety of cheese biscuits and green and red grapes. We also had few family members and friends who came to join us in the afternoon which was great and the conversation was flowing.

Roger, one of our residents went to Chipping Campden town on the morning of the event and bought a few different types of cheese to add to our selection and also brought his favourite wine, which he kindly shared with others. The atmosphere was very nice, everyone was chatting, laughing and enjoyed all the tasty, special food and drink!

We also talked about where the cheeses originated from, discussed the different types of cheese, how they tasted, what they were made of and their favourites.

This was a very nice social afternoon for everyone involved and reminded them of social occasions they had hosted and or attended in their lives. Everyone slept well after having a nice glass of wine.
