Meet the new ‘Dementia Friends’ at East Hill House

The East Hill House staff team reaffirmed their commitment to raising awareness of dementia in the local community, with three members of the team completing a Dementia Friends course.

Home Manager Samantha Booty, Deputy Manager Rebecca Connolly and Activities Co-ordinator Tracey Stokes all took part in the day long course, which teaches people how to raise awareness of dementia and how to treat people who have been diagnosed as living with dementia.

Dementia Friends is an initiative that has been set up by the Alzheimer’s Society to change the way dementia is viewed in society.
The team are now qualified to hold their own meetings, which will be used to help spread the word throughout the local community.

Located in the village of Liss, East Hill House provides high quality residential and specialist dementia care for up to 35 elderly people in a unique setting.
