Media Memories at Kippington

Kippington Care Home in Sevenoaks played host to a different kind of entertainment on Wednesday 10th May.

‘Informative Talks’ brought in a large projection screen to Kippingtons and showed archived recordings of an audio and visual nature accompanied by live commentary, which was both witty and informative. It is almost guaranteed that you will learn something that you did not know, and the live format means that you are able to ask questions and make comment that may be incorporated into the presentation.

This particular presentation was on Radio and Television memories, covering the periods with which the residents would be most familiar, providing a valuable memory aid and reminiscence experience.

Residents were very satisfied with the presentation, with happy memories being brought to the fore. They responded to questions asked by the presenter, and shared their own memories of the times presented.

Informative Talks cover many subjects such as The Royal Family, Comedy Greats and Holidays, with new subjects always being introduced, we look forward to welcoming them back soon.

Kippington provides residential and nursing care in a beautiful converted Victorian building for up to 51 elderly people.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
