Marchglen’s Creative Chef Wins Top Award

Lorraine Ashbridge of Marchglen care home, Alloa, is celebrating after winning a Caring Homes Group ‘Recognition Award’.

Lorraine won Chef of the Year, sponsored by Brake Bros Ltd, for being an extremely passionate chef and a leader in her field, demonstrating culinary craftsmanship with attention to detail and technical prowess in delivering and producing high quality food and drinks.

The award was announced by one of the original professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing; producer and entertainer, Brendan Cole, at a gala ceremony on 14th June at the Heythrop Park Resort, Oxfordshire.

Caring Homes Group is celebrating its 25th year in the care sector and was founded in 1994 by Helena Jeffery and her son Paul, on an aspiration to provide a caring home for each resident and a desire to provide everyone with the opportunity to continue to live life to the full through better quality, care and support. The company is still family-run and has proudly been the winner of many industry and regional awards over the years.

Paul Jeffery, CEO, Caring Homes Group, adds: ““It is very important that we celebrate success, not only of our finalists but also the successes achieved every day by thousands of our colleagues caring for some of the most vulnerable in our society. I am extremely proud that in our 25th year we are all colleagues, a team, a family.”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
