Magna Care Centre hosts Hawaiian luau

With the weather in Dorset resembling that of a tropical island this week, Magna Care Centre chose the perfect time to host their Hawaiian themed day.

The staff and residents were at their creative best as they made their own flower lei’s, a palm tree and a large tissue paper flower, along with crafting an Island scene on the notice board.

The colourful day kicked off with Piña coladas (with exotic fruit juice or lemonade for the faint hearted) accompanied by bounty chocolate bars and fresh pineapple for sustenance. Once suitably refreshed, the residents took part in a ‘pub’ style quiz with the two teams answering some rather tricky questions based on facts about Hawaii.

Magna’s Cheryl Teuber watched as the fun unfolded:
‘After lunch, there was an entertaining game that involved rolling coconuts into hoops. It proved a lot harder than first thought, with the coconuts having a mind of their own!’

Situated in the picturesque village of Canford Magna near Wimborne, the Magna Care Centre provides residential and specialist nursing care for up to 65 elderly people.
