Love is in the air at Home of Compassion

The residents at Home of Compassion in Thames Ditton, Surrey,  celebrated Valentines day with each other, their families and the care team this week.

Valentines is a day to celebrate with friends and family and to remember those that you love. At Home of Compassion it is no different. Simon Gunthrop, a highly talented professional dancer, came in to the residents home to guide them through some ballroom dancing steps. He gently cajoled some of the residents through some of the Charleston and cha-cha-cha moves. All the residents had a lovely time, with a good number get up to dance, whilst others gently swayed and tapped from their chairs.

Dancing is a brilliant way to keep fit, have fun and challenge the residents a little. This is also something a couple of the residents have enjoyed in the past so it was a special experience to share with the rest of the family at Home of Compassion. Simon enjoyed his time with us and commented that he had never had so many residents up on his first visit to a new home!

There was afternoon tea to follow, and Paul our head chef had made some special home-made heart shaped biscuits to follow the theme, thank you Paul.

We are sure we will have Simon Back to Home of Compassion shortly.
