Liviu cares for residents ‘from the heart’ at Rendlesham

Rendlesham Care Centre in Rendlesham, Ipswich, carer Liviu Crisan is proud to be shortlisted as Carer of the Year in the National Care Awards 2017.

Liviu, who has been working at Rendlesham Care Centre since 2014 is well liked by residents, relatives and colleagues at the Suffolk home. He gets to know every resident on an individual basis, often shops for them in his own time and is planning to take one elderly gentleman on holiday next year.

All the families on the unit he works on look for him if there is something they need or something that isn’t quite right, he shows an abundance of patience and generosity of spirit with everyone he works with.

Located by Rendlesham Forest on the outskirts of the village, Rendlesham Care Centre, offers residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 60 elderly residents, in a peaceful location.

Rendlesham Care Centre Manager Ruth Halls says that Liviu has been an invaluable source of support to her since she arrived at the home.

“Liviu is quite humbling to me as a manager,” she said. “It’s rare to come across someone who gives so much of themselves for little or no acknowledgement. It’s this selfless motivation which inspires me to continue to maintain and improve the home, to make it the best environment we can for the residents and the staff alike.”

Liviu, who is mentor to many colleagues at the home, said; “I am learning all the time and it is a privilege to be shortlisted as a carer of the year. I love my job, I care from the heart and delight in being able to make a difference to people’s lives.”

The National Care Awards is the longest established Annual Awards and is organised by social care’s leading publication, Caring Times. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
