Line Dancing at Ivy Court

The residents at Ivy Court in Norwich were treated to some line dancing this month.

A line dancing group came into Ivy Court to perform for the residents showing them a number of dances to some fun tracks that they were able to join in with if they wanted. The residents that attended come sang along, one resident even got up and joined in with the dancers. He really enjoyed getting back into dance as he used to be a ballroom dancer. Line dancing is a great mind-body workout while dancing to better health, memory skills are improved through the repetitive dance moves, and bones are strengthened without hurting joints, which helps develop better balance to help prevent falls and release stress so you feel great.

The line dancers stayed for a cup of tea and a chat to our residents once they had finished their set. The residents really enjoyed speaking with them about the dancing and remembering the songs they used to dance to. Our ex ballroom dancer also enjoyed reminiscing about his ballroom days, hopefully we will be able to bring ballroom dancing to Ivy Court in the near future.
