Knit and Knatter at Oaken Holt

At Oaken Holt, our ladies enjoy unleashing their creative side and have set up a Knit and Knatter Club where some participate with knitting, whilst others work on sewing and patchwork projects.

Our Knit and Knatter Club meet weekly every Tuesday afternoon and we start off by comparing each other projects and see what everyone else has been getting up to in their own time.

It is really lovely for our ladies to get together and share their skills and ideas. They share hints, tips, patterns and lots of laughs while enjoying these traditional crafts. You don’t even need to know how to knit to join in, everyone is welcome to come along and learn.

The conversation flows and we all knit and sew away. It also provides good mental and physical stimulation as they find it can really help with their hand eye coordination and concentration.

Everyone really enjoys these afternoons and even if you do not want to join in with any of these activities, all are welcome to come for a natter and enjoy a cup of tea and piece of cake.

Oaken Holt is set in a magnificent country estate located in the peaceful village of Farmoor offering the perfect blend of tranquillity and accessibility with Oaken Holt providing residential and nursing care of the very highest standard for up to 55 elderly residents. Wytham House, our specialist dementia home is also located on the Oaken Holt estate.
