Knit and Knatter at Ivy Court

At Ivy Court we have started a knitting club for our residents which we hold in the cinema room as it is a big space with great light. Each week more of our residents come along to the session, as they see the enjoyment the others get from the activity.

Our residents from upstairs really enjoyed picking up the needle again, although some do need help with remembering how to knit. Not only is this great for their memories as they remember the items they used to knit when they were younger, but it is also great for our dementia residents as they play with the wool and different textures.

We are hopefully going to be making some scarves for the winter this year, we could also look at knitting some twiddle muffs.

We look forward to the next session.
