Kippington enjoy Oomph

The residents at Kippington Nursing Home in Sevenoaks enjoy regular Oomph sessions.

Oomph! enhances the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our residents through regular mental stimulation and fun physical activity, it also helps the residents connect with each other.

The Oomph! sessions focus on familiar music, reminsicence-led imagery and sensory props which are particularly effective for people with dementia. These help create a fun ‘party’ atmosphere that residents look forward to.

At Kippington we have a double-handed approach to providing Oomph! Musical Exercise. We see this as an ideal activity to involve all of the residents in, of all abilities including those with dementia. Our double-handed approach enables us to actively involve more residents, and we regularly have between 14 to 17 participants!

Kippington provides residential and nursing care in a beautiful converted Victorian building for up to 51 elderly people.
