Kingsclear open their cinema to parents and children

Throughout the summer Kingsclear Nursing Home in Camberley, opened up its doors to the local community by providing a free parent and child cinema club. Every Tuesday and Wednesday parents bought their children in to watch classic Disney films or one of the latest animated movies to help provide entertainment during those long summer months! On Thursdays we had the pleasure of welcoming a child-minding company in to use our cinema so that they did not miss out.

We completely understand how expensive the summer holidays can be and wanted to make sure that we gave the community a safe, free space that would help any parent who was lost for ideas or low on funds. We had over 100 people visit us, we were overwhelmed at the interest but pleased to be a supportive force in the community (one of our many aims in the coming months).

Everyone who came to visit was amazed at how well our Home is presented and how it has the quality of 5* luxury hotel. Hearing the children’s little voices as they wowed open mouthed at our cinema room was most definitely a highlight for us.

Kingsclear provided squash and sweet treats for the children and tea and biscuits for the parents to make sure that all had a relaxing and memorable experience with us. We will most certainly run this again next summer and hope that it is just as successful!

For all that may be interested, from October we will be launching a ‘Silver Surfer Cinema Club’ – this is to help Kingsclear join the fight in tackling loneliness in the local community. We are passionate about our community and value each person that walks through our doors, we want each and every person to feel this and to know that Kingsclear will always be here.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
