Kingsclear Macmillan event raises £100

Kingsclear by Caring Homes in Camberley, held a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning annual event on Friday, September 29th and were delighted to raise £100.

Home manager Diane Stone said; “We welcomed a steady stream of visitors from the local community to come and see our beautiful new home and to share some coffee and cake with us – raising money for a very worthy cause at the same time.”

Conveniently located in the affluent Surrey suburb of Camberley, Kingsclear is designed around the needs of residents and provides the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 90 residents.

The first ever Macmillan coffee morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective it was launched nationally the following year and since then has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan. Sadly, one in three people will face cancer, and the money raised through coffee mornings will help to make sure no one has to face it alone. Macmillan Cancer Support provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care
