Kingsclear Care Home Jubilee Celebrations
Residents and their families at Kingsclear Care Home celebrated the Platinum Jubilee with a BBQ and party! The home was decorated for the occasion with Union Jack flags and patriotic coloured decorations in honour of Her Majesty.
The BBQ was hosted by the wonderful hospitality team and Head Chef Leon in the landscaped garden at the home so everyone could enjoy the wonderful weather. There were lots of games for everyone to get involved in as well as prosecco and Pimms to mark the celebrations. A local entertainer joined the celebrations and sung classics for everyone to sing a long to and show off their dance moves.
It was lovely to have residents, their families and loved ones join us to mark such a special occasion. The celebrations didn't stop there with an afternoon tea being held the following day in the bistro at the home as well as in the garden for those who wanted to enjoy more sunshine. Everyone got to enjoy delicious sandwiches and sweet treats as well as refreshments.
Earlier this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. This marked her 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events have been taking place across the country and we thoroughly enjoyed being part of those celebrations at Kingsclear.
