Ivy Court receive ‘Good’ CQC

Ivy Court Nursing Home, Norwich, is delighted to have recently received an overall rating of ‘GOOD’ from the Care Quality Commission.

Inspectors visited Ivy Court on un-announced inspection in early January 2018 and found the home to have made significant improvements, rating it good for being safe, effective, caring and responsive.

Inspectors found people are treated with kindness, respect and compassion and are given emotional support when needed. They are also supported to express their views and actively involved in making decisions about their care as far as is possible.

Charles Leonard, Ivy Court, Manager ensures that our home is a caring home. He and his team are extremely pleased that inspectors recognised the many positive changes and improvements they continue to make and is delighted with their Good rating.

Inspectors noted that, people receive personalised care that is responsive to their needs and the team promote positive outcomes for people who live with dementia. The views of people who live in the service, relatives and colleagues alike are gathered and acted on to shape any improvements that are made. In addition, suitable provision is made to support people in the final stages of their life. They experienced a positive culture in the home that is open, honest and inclusive which focusses upon achieving good outcomes for people.

A visitor commented “My cousin has only been at Ivy Court for a short time, however, he has received excellent care. The staff are outstanding and we are extremely grateful.”

A relative said “When we visited Ivy Court, we were impressed by the kindness and support to all the residents and visitors. The residents looked happy and cared for and are always treated with respect and dignity. It was a privilege to get to know a very dedicated caring staff. The family cannot thank them enough.”

Home Manager, Charles, and his team are always striving to improve in all areas for both resident’s relatives and colleagues. Their challenge is to ensure that they consistently deliver and evidence that they are achieving the highest standards. As a team they are committed to every aspect of the care and nursing provided being at a consistently high level.
