Italian day at Magna

The residents from Magna Care Centre in Wimbourne were gathered together in the lounge to help enjoy an Italian themed day where we shared Italian facts, music, food and a quiz.

The residents communal lounge area was decorated with Italian bunting and a large flag. The purpose of this event was in aid of welcoming our Italian resident Tony (featured in the photo with Limoncello) Tony has come all the way from Italy to reside with us for a short while.

Residents were invited to taste various different Italian foods which included Mortadella, Parma ham, salami, vine tomatoes, mozzarella, olives, sun dried tomatoes, and bread sticks accompanied with hot Rosemary bread. To help wash down the food they enjoyed a glass or two of Limoncello …

After our mini morning taster residents were accompanied to our restaurant where they could enjoy an Italian themed lunch. The options were …

Antipasto (starters)

Minestrone Alla Milanese (minestrone soup)

Insalata Tricolore (mozzarella, tomato and basil)

Portata Principale (main)

Spaghetti bolgnese con polpette (bolognese with meatballs)

Pollo arrabiata (chicken arrabiata)

Dolci (pudding)

Tutti frutti

In the afternoon residents enjoyed relaxing with the Italian job movie. We look forward to our next theme day!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
