Festive afternoon tea at Home of Compassion

Home of Compassion care home with nursing in Kingston upon Thames pushed the boat out at the Christmas Afternoon Tea this year and it proved well worth the effort.

We were treated to singing by the ever glamorous Jane Beaumont who serenaded us with one well known tune after another and many residents and families were gracing the dance floor in appreciation.  Classics such as Twist and Shout got the dance floor rocking and during White Christmas we could almost hear the sleigh bells jingle.  The place was full of all ages and we enjoyed a full on party atmosphere for the whole afternoon.

Chef surpassed himself with a range of goodies from scones, sweet petit fours right through to grand gateaux for all to enjoy.  And let’s not forget the raft of sandwiches!  Many folk left feeling Christmas had already imparted too much damage to their waistline.

Over thirty residents, twenty five visitors plus staff joined in and the bistro, lounge and cinema room were packed to the hilt with party goers.  Just how things should be during this season of goodwill.

Many thanks to all the staff whose hard work and dedication made this event the success many of our residents will remember fondly for years to come.

Home of Compassion is dedicated to providing the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 71 elderly residents. The luxurious care home is set in delightful surroundings in the heart of Thames Ditton, with beautiful views over the river.
