Hillviews sponsored walk around Helix Park

Whilst Hillviews residents and care team spectated the runners in the Alloa half marathon everyone was feeling very motivated.

Everyone sat down together and did some brain storming. As a result Hillview organised a sponsored 3.2 mile walk around the kelpies as it also meant some lovely sight-seeing during our walk.

The care team and residents chose Strathcarron hospice as the charity to support, not only because of the amazing work they do and how well the money would be spent but it is also close to home as a resident in Willow, Samual, has spent time in there.

Everyone made an amazing effort to help us raise funds. Local businesses donated excellent raffle prizes and family and friends very kindly sponsored everyone. Hillview managed to raise over £1,400 pounds both residents and staff are extremely proud of not only the money raised but of the amount of effort everyone put into the event! It showed amazing team work from residents, staff, family and friends.

Resident Caroline only had one word to describe the event she put so much effort into “Brilliant!!”

Samual, who spent some time at the hospice said, “The best part of the walk was knowing the money we raised was being donated to Strathcarron where I spent some time.”

Well done to everyone involved!
