Heffle Court retains ‘Good’ CQC rating

24th August 2022

Staff and residents at Heffle Court Care Home are celebrating after retaining its ‘Good’ rating following an unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Residents were found to be “supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives” by staff and felt they were safe “living at the home,” while staff were viewed to be kind.

Within the CQC inspection, staff were observed to be encouraging and engaging people to be involved in daily tasks. Speaking to inspectors, one staff member said: "It is important that people can walk around and that they can do whatever it is they want to do. It's my job to make sure they can do that safely. It's important they can be independent when they can be."

Relatives also left positive feedback with one saying: “staff are amazing and communication is good...” while another said: 'My wife is well looked after, and the staff are lovely.”

Caring Homes’ Heffle Court home manager, Debby Potter, said: “We are pleased with the results of our recent CQC report, and it was great to see the recognition of how happy our residents and their family members are.

“The whole team at Heffle Court has worked hard to improve the care we provide, and we are looking forward to continuing to build on this in the future.”

In addition, the report also found that staff felt ‘supported’ in their roles, with access to relevant training, as well as awards and incentives in recognition of their achievements.
