Happy St. Patrick’s Day at Knowle Park
20th March 2017
The residents and team at Knowle Park in Cranleigh, Surrey have been in full swing here for St. Patrick's Day with our shamrock decorations and a cheeky leprechaun, that visited our home and was seen hanging around the dining room. Our residents loved all the effort that was put into the day beginning with the Irish quiz held in the morning, to the wonderfully decorated dining room and last but not least, the delicious food prepared lovingly by our wonderful in-house chefs. On the menu and in honour of this feast day, we went traditional with emerald eggs, Irish stew and soda bread, chocolate stout cakes with creamy topping and of course a small tipple of Guinness! We even learnt a Gaelic greeting, Sona lá st Pádraig! which means ‘Happy St. Patrick’s Day’ and that the Feast of Saint Patrick is celebrated all round the world on 17th March and many people often wear an item of green clothing on the day.As we have a resident with Irish heritage, it also brought back many a happy memory for her.So not only was it lots of fun but informative too. Overall, it was a fabulous day for all involved and it was a St. Patrick ’s Day that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.At Knowle Park care home in Cranleigh, Surrey we provide excellent residential, dementia and nursing care for up to 46 elderly people. If you would like to find out more about life at Knowle Park and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5518 or knowlepark@CaringHomes.org.[gallery size="large" columns="4" ids="18492,18493,18491,18490"]
