Games and crafts at Southlands Place
The residents at Southlands Place Care Home have been enjoying games and getting ready for Easter with some arts and crafts.
Gloria a resident at the home showed her steady hand and tactical skills when playing one of her favourite games Jenga. Playing games provides an important source of relaxation, socialisation and mental stimulation, it also helps with coordination and dexterity.
She then joined a number of other residents to start getting the home ready for Easter, with a range of arts and crafts sessions going on with colourful decorations being made ready for the celebrations. With bunny pictures and creative Easter egg concepts which will be displayed around the home for all to see.
Activity-based care is a key ingredient for our residents to feel engaged and helps socialisation within the home, which is why craft sessions like these are so popular with our residents. and a wonderful way for them to show off their creative side.
