Fun Day at Magna

The residents and families and friends from Magna care home in Wimbourne enjoyed a beautiful day summers day with a Fun Day. The Riches family had an amazing five generations attend with our lovely Leonora being head of the family.

Due to the weather report we put up lots of gazebos so we could keep everyone in the shade but it was still mighty hot. Cold drinks were in plenty of supply to keep everyone cool and hydrated.

Everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch cooked by our very own chef, and then played games in the grounds such as hook a duck, tin can knock off, ball in the bucket and apple rolling. Unfortunately the weather was so hot that the games were not really used by the residents but the relatives and children all had a go. One of our gorgeous little visitors gave up playing hook a duck and climbed into the paddling pool, it was such a hot day that we all wanted to join her!

Four boys from the grammar school came and played jazz music for us which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, finger and toe tapping, and those that were able got up and had a dance. It was one of their last gigs before going off to their respective universities. One of the boys is the grandson of a resident, so thank you to you all for coming we really appreciate it!

The day was completed with a visit from an ice cream van in the afternoon, we got an ice cream for all of our residents and our visitors also joined in. These went down very well as you can imagine with the heat they were a welcome relief.

The Magna nursing home in Wimborne is a stunning Care Centre providing residential and specialist nursing care for up to 63 elderly residents.
