Fizz Fridays at Galsworthy House

The residents and care team at Galsworthy House in Kingston upon Thames have been enjoying a regular Friday activity with different entertainment each week.

Fizz Friday was the brainchild of Home Manager Graeme Redshaw and it has really taken off, the fizz and entertainment is thoroughly enjoyed by residents and their families.

It began in August with our activities ladies dressing up in 1940’s dress, looking amazing! and entertainment from Josephine singing 1940’s and 1950’s music, many residents joined in with this reminiscing and remembering the recent 1950’s discussions they had with Nigel.

More recently there was magic in the air at our Fizz Fridays have enjoyed entertainment from Doug performing magic, as well as playing guitar and singing. Doug has been coming to Galsworthy for nearly 2 years this was the first time we have seen his magic act. He always interacts very well with the residents and visitors. On this occasion he asked the audience for help, he gave a member of staff a £20 note and asked the staff member to sign her name on it, Doug had shown a Lemon earlier in his act, he later cut the Lemon and inside was the £20 note with the staff members name on it. Doug captured many residents and visitors with both his music and magic. We look forward to Doug’s return later in the year!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
