Firefighters Memorial Day at Garth House
Garth House celebrated Firefighters’ Memorial Day yesterday, 4th May. The activities coordinator and residents made a card during their arts and crafts sessions, with lovely messages written in. The homes Chefs- Giovanni and Glenn made some yummy cupcakes too. This was in preparation of the Surrey Fire and Rescue Team from Dorking Fire Station coming to the home, to show our respect and appreciation for their tireless service.
Residents had a love chat with the firemen, asking questions and finding out more about the fire station and their time so far in the service. The firemen were happy to receive their homemade car and cupcakes and thanked us for inviting them in, saying “It was great to be here and thank you for having us”
Fireman Andy Stevenson also thanked for the lovely cupcakes. Other firemen Curtis Howells-Davies, Tomas Gomez and Tom Evans said that it was great to spend time with Garth House residents.
Our residents Lillian and Joe said “it was great to have the Firemen here and learn more about them and show our respects on this day.”
