Staff at Firtree House care home were celebrating this week as they received top marks in their latest unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Following a review of the inspection process in recent years, five areas of the care provided at the home were inspected including safeguarding, staffing and residents’ welfare.
The modern property, which is located on St James Road and part of the family-owned Caring Homes Group, has achieved the highest possible levels of compliance having met the required standards in all of the above areas.
As part of the process, CQC inspectors spoke to residents, relatives and members of staff. The home demonstrated full compliance in all areas with special mention made of the skilled staff at the home and the safe and comfortable accommodation.
Home Manager, Jackie Cullip praised the team effort behind the positive results:
‘We have a long established team here at Firtree House and everyone supports each other to provide the best possible care for our residents across all areas of the home.
The Caring Homes group places a high emphasis on maintaining high standards of care provision and I am very proud that the efforts of my team have been recognized through this report.’
Situated in an attractive residential area of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Firtree House has provided nursing care for up to 42 elderly people for over 50 years. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
