Enjoy a coffee for Macmillan at Denham Manor

Denham Manor will be holding a coffee day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning annual event on Friday, September 29th.

All are welcome to pop in and enjoy a piece of homemade cake and a cup of coffee with the team, residents and relatives from 11am onwards.

Situated within three acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, Denham Manor, in Denham, Buckinghamshire, offers a full range of nursing care support – including trial stays, short stay and convalescent care, as well as long-term care. The Buckinghamshire home provides specialist nursing care for up to 44 elderly residents in a beautifully prestigious home.

Home manager Julie Twidle said; “We would love to welcome people from the local community to come and see our home and to share some coffee and cake with us – raising money for a very worthy cause at the same time.”

The first ever Macmillan coffee morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cupper to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective it was launched nationally the following year and since then has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan.

One in three people will face cancer, and the money raised through coffee mornings will help to make sure no one has to face it alone. Macmillan Cancer Support provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care.
