Eggs-citing Easter events at Walstead Place

At Walstead Place care home in Haywards Heath, we all enjoyed the start of our Easter themed activities and events with an Easter egg hunt and bonnet competition yesterday. We were delighted when resident and team families and friends joined in with the celebrations at our home.

We were very pleased to welcome Mr Roger Scofield from All Saints Church in Lindfield, who joined us at our home and judged the adult entries. Sue, the daughter of one of our residents John, judged the children’s bonnets. A task that Sue said was very hard to choose as they were all very good and so cute.

The adult competition was won by a very proud resident of our home, Noneen, who made the bonnet with the help of her daughter. The children’s bonnet competition winner was won by Millie whose mum is one of Walstead Place night care assistants.

It was great to see so many people taking part in the festivities and to see visitors of all ages able to enjoy the garden and beautiful afternoon spring sunshine, whilst they hunted down the eggs expertly hidden by our activity team.

We also held an Easter raffle which raised £82.00 for the resident’s fund.

The afternoon was enjoyed by all and we rounded off with afternoon tea with Easter cakes made as usual by Ingrid and the catering team.
