Easter Celebrations at Moorlands

The residents at Moorlands have been busy over the last few days getting ready for Easter and then enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

Jane, one of our Activities Coordinators, decorated the dining room and hallway ready for the Easter festivities and on Wednesday we held our very own Easter Tea Party and raffle for the residents.

Jane and Rebecca, RGN, made fabulous Easter bonnets for everyone to wear, getting us all into the festive mood.  We then held a raffle with all proceeds going to the resident’s fund. This was followed by a lovely Easter buffet which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Of course all great parties must have games and after all the lead up to the day, the residents eagerly joined in the festivities. We started off the fun with a few rounds of pass the parcel and I’m unsure who was worse for holding on to the parcel, staff or residents! And last but not least, on Easter Sunday Jane & Rebecca took delivery of gifts from the Easter bunny which were distributed to all the residents.

At Moorlands, we can see the positive effects resulting from holding these events by keeping our residents active and stimulated. By making these days fun, we get everyone involved and create a happy and relaxing environment.
