East Hill House Scarecrow fit for the Olympics

 
The residents at East Hill House unveiled their much-awaited entry into the Liss scarecrow trail recently.

This year’s theme was the upcoming Olympics and the team introduced a Jubilee twist depicting the Duke of Edinburgh as a disabled Olympic torchbearer (pictured)

The scarecrow trail grows in popularity each year and saw nearly 50 entries this year depicting many Olympic sports including weightlifting, cycling, kayaking and synchronised swimming.

The results will be announced in July with everyone at East Hill House hoping ‘the Duke’ makes the podium.

East Hill House provides residential and specialist dementia care for up to 35 elderly people in a unique setting. In addition to the main home there are seven cottages and two apartments, all arranged around a central lawn, creating a wonderful Village Green location.

Residents of the cottages and apartments, while maintaining a more independent lifestyle, are also able to make use of the many communal facilities at East Hill House as and when needed. These include a wide range of communal activities, a hairdressing suite and dining of a standard normally associated with the finest hotels.
