Drums at Hulcott

The residents and care team at Hulcott Nursing Home in Aylesbury were treated to a special session today thanks to our Health and Wellbeing coordinator Keith McWhirter.

Keith brought in some of his drums from his kit for the residents to enjoy.
Resident Norman was happy to try his hand at the “tom tom” with the support of Senior Carer Karen close by.

The residents were all happy to join in, clapping to the beat and enjoying the rhythm, Norman was reluctant to give up his drum sticks at the end of the session though.

Residents at Hulcott Nursing Home are happy to try something new now and then and they look forward to the next scheduled activity. These activities help our residents enjoy social interaction. The act of drumming can be an excellent upper body exercise and can stimulate the heart, whilst banging the drum can release emotion.

Hulcott Nursing Home provides the highest standards of specialist nursing and residential care for up to 38 elderly people.
