Dormy House resident celebrates 72nd Wedding Anniversary

The staff at Dormy House care home were delighted to help resident Frederick Butler celebrate his 72nd Wedding Anniversary with his beloved wife Dorina this week.

A number of Fred’s close family and friends came to the home to help the couple celebrate and a table was set in the conservatory for them to have lunch with wine and a Guinness for Fred.

Home Manager Kay Wainwright said, “Fred and Dorina are an amazing couple and it was an honour to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary with them."

The couple were married on the 19th December 1942 at St Dunston Church in East Acton, in a beautiful white wedding with around 40 guests. They have a daughter, Susan Robinson, two grandchildren, Victoria and Thomas Till and one great grandson Harry, aged 2.

The couple moved from London to Crowthorne around 10 years ago and the couple are now 93 and 92.

Fred said, “ We had a lovely day celebrating our anniversary with a nice lunch that the staff kindly organised for us.”

Located in Sunningdale adjacent to the world-renowned golf course, Dormy House provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care to up to 88 elderly ladies and gentlemen. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
