Cupcaketastic at Tall Trees

Tall Trees are proud to be supporting Cupcakes against dementia by taking part in the Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day on 16th June.

Our residents and team will be whipping up a storm with their wooden spoons at the ready, in one of our regular baking activity sessions, which are a popular activity here at our home.

This afternoon for example, five of our residents gathered together to bake. We started from scratch and we all had much fun cracking the eggs and mixing all the ingredients together. Everybody was very dedicated and we followed the recipe step by step in order to bake some delicious Chocolate Chip Muffins.

While we waited for the muffins to bake, we took the opportunity to enjoy a nice refreshing cup of tea and a chat whilst smelling the delicious aromas emanating from the oven. When the muffins were ready, everybody was so excited, it was quite difficult to find the patience and let them cool down enough to eat. Everybody was very happy and so proud of their work, so we enjoyed another cup of tea and savoured the fruits of our labour.

It was a lovely afternoon and we are looking forward to our next session and practising some more for Cupcake Day. As this is a cause close to our hearts here, we will be making and baking delicious homemade cupcakes to fundraise and to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society.
