Cream tea party raises funds for good cause

An afternoon of cream teas and home baked cakes proved a real treat for residents and staff at Knowle Park recently.

The Cranleigh care home, which forms part of the Caring Homes group, provided the perfect backdrop for the fund-raising event in aid of Arthritis Research UK.

The tea party was attended by more than 100 people and helped to raise £650 for the charity.

Knowle Park’s Manager, Bernie Allen, was delighted that so many people supported the tea party and the fund-raising cause. He said:

‘I’d like to thank all those who came along and supported us by donating their baking skills or money. It was their effort that made the event a great success. Our residents and visitors really enjoyed the day as it was such a sociable event. Our very own chef provided sandwiches and drinks for the occasion so we all got involved.’

Situated on the outskirts of Cranleigh, Knowle Park is a magnificent early 19th century Manor House that has been lovingly restored to provide residential and nursing care for up to 43 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
