Christmas Wishes come true at Coxhill Manor

At Coxhill Manor, one of our resident Ken enjoys classical music and has a particular love for opera. Made all the better when the singer is dressed all festive in a Santa outfit.

Ken is a very popular character at Coxhill Manor and an inspirational man who is always upbeat and happy and never short of cheeky banter. We all love him and he’s a central figure of our family here.

Ken hasn’t been feeling too well lately, so Sandra Stock, our Head of Activities here at Coxhill Manor set out to try and arrange for Mezzo Soprano singer Jane Cuva to make a guest appearance over the Christmas period especially for Ken and fulfil a Christmas wish.

Jane is a regular visitor at our home and our residents enjoy her amazing performances – but no one more than Ken.  Last time Jane was at Coxhill Manor she sang an Italian love song for him – which was very meaningful as his wife was Italian.  She made his day!

So Sandra moved activities and entertainers around in order for Jane to come into Coxhill Manor on the morning of the 23rd December and kept Ken’s family updated on her plans. Sandra gave Jane a few special song requests, including Opera and that special Italian love song which we now know is called ‘Caruso.’

Ken thoroughly enjoyed the performance and often closed his eyes whilst gently conducting the music with his hands.  Jane made Ken feel really special, and posed for a photo with him after her show.  Ken was in his element.

Huge thanks to Jane and Sandra for creating a very special morning and memories for a very special man.

At Coxhill Manor, we strive to fulfil our residents wishes and to make their time with us special and memorable. Why not come back and find out more about how we make our residents dreams and wishes come true.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
