Christmas Countdown at Mill House

The Mill House Activities Coordinator, Dominika, or should we say at this time of year, our ‘Activity Elf’ has been very busy in the lead up to the festive season, creating an action packed and varied schedule for our residents for the whole month of December.

With a festive theme running throughout, residents will be delighted with a multitude of visiting entertainers, official ‘Lights On’ event, pamper sessions, Carol Concerts, interactive therapy sessions such as Mindsong and Creative Minds, to name just a few.

Our residents have also been very busy helping us get ready; from creating our very own angel in our arts and crafts class for a very special ‘Angels festival’ to be displayed at church. To a homemade Christmas tree for all to enjoy and which will be displayed in our reception area. Christmas is not complete without mince pies, so there will also be a baking activity session and our residents will be rolling up their sleeves, mixing bowls and wooden spoons at the ready, cooking up a storm. So we will have our cake (or pies) and eat them too!

And that’s not all. Of course we can’t forget Christmas Day, where our team will pull out all the stops to make sure our residents have a fabulous day and enjoy a slap up Christmas dinner menu (with all the trimmings) created by our in-house chefs.

At Mill House, we believe an active life is a happier and more fulfilling life and a key member of the care team is our Activities Coordinator. They work with our residents on a group and individual basis to ensure everyone has an opportunity to participate in activities that have real meaning for them. We encourage our residents to maintain the hobbies and interests they have built up over a lifetime but also to try new experiences as and when they wish.
