Christmas has come to Oaken Holt

Christmas came in traditional style to Oaken Holt Care Home this week, when we welcomed the Cumnor Community Choir to our home in Farmoor, Oxfordshire.

We held the choral themed afternoon in our beautifully new refurbished dining room with the Christmas tree twinkling in the background and forming the perfect stage for this musical treat. The residents sang along to traditional carols and it was beautiful to hear everyone’s voices ringing out around the home bringing smiles of joy and happiness.

Sherrie Hume, Home Manager said:

“Singing carols is so beneficial for our residents as it brings back lots of cherished memories. It can help the residents feel part of something, not separate and inspires good feelings about the home and our caregivers.”

“We also really enjoy our links with these groups and being part of the local community. We knew that the choir’s visit was going to bring the tradition and magic of Christmas to our home and a sense of joy to our residents and team alike. It was lovely to have them here and for us, getting our residents and team involved in the local area nurtures a real sense of community responsibility which we value and treasure.”
