Christmas Cheer for Hulcott

Residents at Hulcott nursing home in Aylesbury were all treated to lots of Christmas cheer this year as our team all worked together to make Christmas a really festive and happy time for our residents.

Our Activities Coordinators were very busy elves putting together a full schedule of festive activities for the enjoyment of our residents.

There were unlimited sweets and lots of goodies, including sweets which were delivered by hand and which one of our residents, Peter, took full advantage of when they were offered to him by Santa and his little helper.

On Christmas Day, our home was overflowing with relatives and visitors who joined us for a traditional Christmas with Roast Turkey and all the trimmings followed by Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies. Of course, don’t forget the crackers!

Laurentio, (pictured below) one of our popular domestics and with his pleasant disposition and personality, certainly was the man for the job of waiter at our Christmas lunch. Didn’t he look dapper?

The Christmas tree was beautifully decorated by the residents and really set the scene for our festive events held here at our home. Pictured here is Margaret Smart,. Manager joining Lillian and Clare in the lounge for a chat.As is tradition at Friends and Relatives at Hulcott fill the hamper which is raffled at the Christmas Party.

A Christmas hamper is on show in Reception together with a Guess the Elf’s name competition and we hold a Christmas Table top Sale every year. Reception is a busy fun time at Christmas and many residents prefer to while away an hour or two enjoying a cup of tea or coffee with their visitors there especially as Margaret Smart, our Home Manager keeps the Reception hostess area filled with her homemade Christmas shortbread and chocolates for us all to enjoy.

All you would expect for a traditional Christmas happened here at Hulcott. Mince pies galore, mulled wine, Christmas Carols, lots of social events and of course a Christmas Party with visiting Pantomime which this year was Cinderella.

Thank you to all our residents, guests and team who made this season full of love, laughter and cheer. We look forward to welcoming in the New Year with you.
