Christmas carolling at Garth House

The angelic voices of pupils from St Paul’s Primary School rang through Garth House early in December, when the youngsters visited to sing carols to residents. ‘Away in a manger’, ‘Oh come all ye faithful’ and other festive favourites were chorused enthusiastically by the visitors, filling the home with glad tidings and cheer.

Enhanced by our Christmas decorations the atmosphere created during the afternoon was very special and put us all in joyful spirits for advent. After the concert, residents and children mingled chatting and enjoying a mince pie or two.

Home Manager Roz Salmani said: “It’s always special to hear carols sung as we gear up for Christmas. Our residents especially enjoyed seeing the excited faces of the visiting children and swapping stories about their Christmas traditions.

“We have connections with many local groups, and are very much a part of the local community, inviting people to our home as well as getting out and about in the area.”
