Christmas carollers at Belmont

This week Belmont House in Sutton were visited by two schools from the Sutton area to meet and sing to our residents.

The residents gathered around the twinkling Christmas Tree on two occasions as the young choirs from our local primary Avenue School, and the second from Homefield Park School sang a mixture of classic popular songs and more classical carols. ‘Away in a manger’, ‘Oh come all ye faithful’ and other festive favourites were chorused enthusiastically by the children, filling the home with glad tidings and cheer. Even the PAT dog got involved!

The residents loved it and it made the home feel very Christmassy, enhanced by our Christmas decorations, the atmosphere created during the afternoon was very special and put us all in joyful spirits for advent. After the concert, residents and the children had a chat and enjoyed a mince pie or two.

One of the young children was heard saying “It’s so nice at Belmont, I’ll be coming here when I’m older.”

Belmont House has connections with many local groups, and are very much a part of the local community, inviting people to the home as well as getting out and about in the area.

Belmont House provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment.
