A Century of music at Kippingtons

The residents, relatives and care team at Kippington in Sevenoaks celebrated a 101st birthday with a special day called ‘A Century of Music’!

Hengie, resident of Kippington Nursing home, had her 101st birthday celebrated in style with an event dubbed ‘A Century of Music’. Kippington Manager Edwin Cabagui welcomed the Mayor of Sevenoaks, Cllr Maxine Chakowa who attended in full official robes, and the event looked back at the great variety of musical styles that Hengie has seen pass through the 20th Century and beyond.

A brief summary of the history of popular music was read, then entertainer Joe Phillips skilfully incorporated the work of several of the artists named in the history as he presented a broad spread of Musical styles recognisable to all.

Presentations were made to Hengie by The Mayor and special guests from Tesco, who have been very generous in their support of Kippington. There was plenty of food, drink, and cake for all to enjoy and wish Hengie a very Happy Birthday!

Kippington provides residential and nursing care in a beautiful converted Victorian building for up to 51 elderly people.
